fall vibes kickoff

hello everyone! happy september and happy fall vibes! the competition is officially open so good luck and i hope you’re all ready to enjoy the fall. The late summer to early fall transition is one of my absolute favorite times of year and it holds some of the best vibes. In some ways it can feel like a mad rush to squeeze every last drop of fun out of summer with beach/lake days, picnics, summertime out door activities, and recipes with the fresh flavors of summer. anything we can do to soak up the last of the sun, all its light, all its warmth, all its opportunity. But as we come to the culmination of summer there’s something satisfying in the fading of the light earlier in the evening, we can feel the summer inside of our bodies. It’s in our muscles from summer hikes, bike rides, walks, swims, and more. It’s in our skin whether we’ve been burned, tanned, or just kissed by the sun. It’s nurturing us via the freshness of our summer gardens or farmers market hauls. It’s in our memories and camera rolls. Even if you’re looking back and regretting not doing more, I’m sure it really think about it you can find plenty of examples of summer fun. And of course there’s still more time to add any last minute summer activities to your list. The other beautiful thing about the late summer early fall period is that it’s a transitional time that provides us with a perfect structure to make transitions ourselves. The most obvious example of this is back to school vibes and importantly, this is not limited to just students and teachers. Whether you want to focus in on an existing project or work, or learn about a new topic or skill, back to school is a great framework to reenergize and focus on your desired goal. If you want to go big and get yourself new school supplies to energize yourself with new learning, great! If you want to take a simple approach of writing a to do list and scheduling some time to dedicate to a project, awesome! What we can take from back to school regardless is that now is a good time to sink ourselves into something new as the flurry of summer activities winds down. So, while today marks the first day of fall vibes, it’s important to remember it’s not the first day of fall yet. If the leaves haven’t started changing, that’s ok, and if they have we can notice and smile but there’s no rush for them to fall.

Happy fall vibes everyone and best of luck in the competition!
